Our current Sheriff, Doug McFall, was elected to Office in 2008. Sheriff McFall retired as a Sergeant after 23 1/2 years with the Idaho State Police. Prior to service with the Idaho State Police, Sheriff McFall served as a Deputy Sheriff for Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Valley County Sheriff’s Office, Bannock County Sheriff’s Office and the Idaho Falls Police Department. Sheriff McFall has attended numerous leadership courses as well as the 10 week long Northwest Staff and Command Collage.
The Jerome County Sheriff’s Office consists of 39 full time employees as well as a Reserve Deputy and Search and Rescue volunteer force. The 39 full time Deputies are spread throughout the Jail, Patrol, Investigations, Civil and Drivers License.
The Jerome County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the safety and security of the County which consists of 601 square miles. Within Jerome County are three cities, Hazelton, Eden and Jerome. We believe in forming strong partnerships with our cities, communities and citizens.

The Mission of our Jerome County Sheriff’s Office is to form a proactive
approach to fair and just law enforcement and detention services with our communities input. We
will continue to provide professional, ethical and compassionate law enforcement
services, making the safety of our deputies and citizens our first priority.

The deputies of the Jerome County Sheriff’s Office are committed to developing
and promoting exemplary personal character, professional integrity and a sense
